Verified by Visa Disclosures
Verified by Visa is a free service – exclusively for Visa cardholders – that offers you added safety by helping ensure that only you can use your Visa card online. You simply create a password to confirm your identity.
There’s no need to get a new card. Verified by Visa works with the NIHFCU card you already have. You will enjoy added security when you buy online at participating stores.
Here’s how it works
Verified by Visa is designed to protect the Visa credit or debit card you already have. So once you activate Verified by Visa for each of your NIHFCU Visa cards: 1) Your card(s) will be automatically recognized at participating online stores and you’ll be asked for your password. 2)Your password will be verified. 3)The transaction will be completed.
If you are not enrolled in Verified by Visa when shopping online, you will be prompted to enroll when making a purchase at participating merchant web sites. To save yourself time while shopping, enroll in Verified by Visa now by going to www.visa.com/verified. Please note that if you do not enroll in Verified by Visa, participating merchants will not permit you to make purchases online through their web sites.
h2. IMPORTANT NOTICE
Verified by Visa enrollment is based on data supplied by NIHFCU to Visa. In order for you to be able to establish your Verified by Visa password(s), the information you enter about yourself must match the information NIHFCU has on file for you. Otherwise, you will receive an error message and will not be able to enroll or to make a purchase at participating merchant web sites. If you receive an error message while attempting to enroll in Verified by Visa, please contact NIHFCU by calling our Telephone Service Center at (301) 718-0208, (800) 877-6440 or (301) 881-5822 TDD, or by stopping by any NIHFCU branch.
Other items to note:
You must set up a password for both your NIHFCU Credit Card and CheckLink Visa Check Card. These are treated as separate accounts, since they operate from different card numbers.
If you have multiple cardholders using the same account (i.e. a CheckLink Visa Check Card for a joint share draft account), the primary member information is used for the enrollment process. Additionally, a single password must be shared among the cardholders of that account. So, a couple with a joint share draft account would have one Verified by Visa password for the CheckLink cards associated with that account.
Please allow up to two weeks for Visa to process your information after getting a new share draft or credit card account. Otherwise, you may receive an error message when attempting to enroll. This does not apply to reissued cards.
