Going Through a Divorce

If you are going through a divorce, it’s very likely that your financial situation is going to change. Making smart decisions at this difficult time can help take some of the angst and tension out of the process.

Here are some suggestions to help you in this transitional period.

  • Establish New Accounts: Once you are an NIHFCU member, you are a member for life – regardless if you became one because of marriage. We urge you to contact us immediately so we can help you open your own accounts and speak with you about changes to any joint accounts.
  • Change Your Address: If you’re relocating, please fill out a change of address form immediately. We cannot forward any NIHFCU correspondence without your signed authorization.
  • Low Rate Mortgage Options: If you’re moving into a new home, NIHFCU offers numerous low-rate mortgage options. We can also help you earn a rebate on your purchase (or sale) with our partnership with CU Realty.
  • Debt Consolidation: Should you have outstanding burdensome debt, you may want to consider a debt consolidation loan to get your debt into one easy low-rate payment.

Of course, should you have other questions about how NIHFCU can help you in this transitional period, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are happy to help in any way we can!
