Community Involvement

NIH Federal Credit Union is committed to improve the lives of people. We invest into the community and serve our members, their families, and employers within our field of membership. While the organizations we support may vary from year to year, we strive to promote and contribute to the health and success of that community.

Some of current community projects include:
Rockville Holiday Drive NIHFCU employees were divided into groups to purchase gifts for  Rockville area families in need. The gifts collected included bikes, clothes, toys, and even a clarinet. The Rockville Holiday Drive recipients participate in the Linkages to Learning program which is a school-based collaboration among the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services, the Montgomery County Public Schools, and non-profit community based service providers.
Community Celebrations & Events Throughout the year, NIHFCU maintains a strong presence at many local events and festivals, supporting the communities we serve. For a list of our upcoming community events visit our Seminar & Events section.
Race for a Cure Komen for the Cure is the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures.

NIHFCU is a proud sponsor of Women in Bio (WIB)  to “race for a cure” on June 5th.
Rockville Hometown Holidays The two-day outdoor art and craft festival will take place Saturday, May 28, and Sunday, May 29, from 1-8 p.m. in Rockville Town Center. Each year, the annual Hometown Holidays celebration attracts more than 60,000 people. NIHFCU will support the City of Rockville by being a sponsor and having a booth with giveaways and fun activities for the residents of Rockville to join in.
Back to Bethesda This event is a car show and family day in Bethesda which serves as an important fundraiser and outreach opportunity for “The Children’s Inn” every year. The Inn provides a home for seriously ill children and their families and this year NIHFCU will has had a booth.
NIH Camp Fantastic Special Love charity gives children with cancer a chance to enjoy normal childhood activities by providing a week long camp that supports and shows kids with cancer they are not alone. NIHFCU supports this charity through donations and participation in NIH campus annual barbecue where they  raise money to send children with cancer and HIV to camp near Front Royal, VA
NIHFCU is making great strides to increase community involvement. We welcome any suggestions, please send your participation suggestion via email.
