8 Tips to Get A Jump-Start on Savings.

Amazon Prime Day 2023 kicks off on July 11 and 12, 2023. To participate in Prime Day you’ll need to be a Prime member. Fortunately, there’s a free 30-day trial available, which grants you access to the entire shopping event and any pre-event deals that may arise.

Amazon also releases some of its most popular deals a bit earlier, including a few discounts on it’s devices. So, if you’re looking to save that little bit extra going into the big Prime sale event, it might help to do a little research first. Here are 8 things you need to know before sale days begin:

1. Lightning Deals Are a Thing, But Easy to Miss. Amazon likes to host lots of limited-time lightning deals during Prime Day, many of which can sell out within minutes. These can come and go very quickly, especially if it’s a popular item or a stellar deal.

2. Plan What You Want to Buy with a Wishlist. It’s crucial to resist impulsive buying during Prime Day. While you will undoubtedly be tempted with incredible deals, adopting a strategic approach to your shopping will ultimately prove fruitful. Instead of solely relying on the main Prime shopping page, take the time to plan your desired purchases and add them to your wishlist. Then, when Prime Day arrives, review your list where you may find all the deals you’ve been anticipating to buy.

3. Always Double-Check The Seller on Amazon. Despite how reliable it can be, anyone can take part in the Prime Day sales, even scammers. Stick with the brands you know, and double-check if it’s being sold either directly by them, known third-party, or via Amazon itself. It’s easy to spot this, just scroll down, and you’ll see just below the ‘Add to Basket’ button there are ‘Dispatches from’ and ‘Sold by’ markers detailing where the item is coming from.

4. Get 6-Months of Amazon Prime Student for Free. If you’re a student, you can save even more on Amazon Prime, with Amazon Prime Student. (Requires .edu email address).  Prime Student comes with all the benefits of a Prime membership, and even throws in a few extra incentives as well.

5. Verify the Price History of Prime Day Deals. It’s essential to remember that the so-called “best deal ever” may not always live up to its title. Some deals may be misleading during Prime Day, with items that were already the “same low price” prior to the event. Fortunately, there are apps out there that can help you make an informed decision by finding the item’s price history. Armed with this knowledge, you’ll be able to determine whether the Prime Day deal truly offers a better value or not.

6. Prime Members: Top Up $50 and Get $5 Extra for Free. Starting July 3rd and running through July 10th, Amazon Prime Members can head on over to Amazon where they are offering a $5 Amazon Credit when you purchase a $50 Amazon eGift Card.

7. Get $15 For Backing Up Photos with Amazon. Eligible Amazon Prime customers who upload a photo for the first time to the Amazon Photos app are also able to get $15 promotional credit off their first order of $30 or more on Amazon. If you’re a first-time user, download the Amazon Photo app, to either your phone or desktop, and upload at least one photo.

8. Best Buy and Walmart Will Have Competing Sales. They are also looking to get in on the Prime Day hype, and host big ‘Black Friday in July’ type sales over the Prime Day period. We’ll also be covering these deals, so you’ll never miss out on a big discount over the 48-hour sales. Plus, with each retailer competing against each other, it’s likely to see some dramatic discounts pop up while the other two scramble to price match the other.
