$50 Referral Reward

You and your new member referral will each receive a $50 Visa Reward Card when they register and complete the following within 90 days of becoming an NIHFCU member:

  • Open an NIHFCU consumer checking account with e-statements, AND
  • Complete ten (10) or more debit card transactions of $5 or more OR complete two (2) direct deposits of at least $250 each.

Please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery of your Reward Card after completing all offer requirements.

Answers to common questions

While the referral links you share do not expire, offers may be changed or cancelled at any time. The offer must be valid at the time your friend or family member registers for the offer using your referral link. Your friend or family member must open their account within 180 days of completing their referral registration in order to be eligible for the offer.

Although it is possible to refer a new member without being a member yourself, you must be a current NIH Federal Credit Union member in good standing to receive the reward. If the referrer is not a member, no reward cards will be sent to either party.

Reward Cards are sent via the United States Postal Service (USPS) and typically arrive within 4-6 weeks after all qualification criteria have been completed.

Occasionally, spam filters can incorrectly block even legitimate emails. Begin by having the person you referred conduct a search in their email for info@referlive.com. If they are still unable to locate the referral email ask them to add info@referlive.com to their address book and then contact us at info@referlive.com or by phone at 615-864-7520, Monday – Friday from 8am – 4pm CT.

A Referrer may receive a combination of Visa Rewards Cards up to a maximum value of $500 within a calendar year, but only one Referrer may receive a Visa Reward card for each Referred Person who fulfills the requirement.

No, to be eligible for the referral rewards, the referred member must not be a current NIHFCU member at the time of your referral.

NIHFCU Referral Program Terms & Conditions
The person making the referral (Referrer) will earn a Visa® Reward Card for each individual referred (Referred Person) to NIH Federal Credit Union who registers for the offer, opens a new NIH Federal Credit Union membership, and completes the offer requirements within the time specified in the offer. To make a referral, the Referrer must register for the program and share the offer with their friends, family, or coworkers who are not currently members of NIHFCU. A Referrer may receive up to $500 in Visa Reward Cards within a calendar year, but only one Referrer may receive a Visa Reward Card for each Referred Person who fulfills the requirements. A Referrer may earn a $50 Visa Reward Card for qualified Consumer Checking referrals.

The person being referred (Referred Person) can earn up to $150 in Visa Reward Cards. To earn up to $150 in Visa Reward Cards, the Referred Person must register by following the link provided in the referral email or on social media and complete one or more of the offers listed below:

Consumer Checking Account Offer:
To earn a $50 Visa Reward Card, the Referred Person must register by following the link provided on NIHFCU’s website, in the referral email, or on social media, and complete the following within 90 days of becoming an NIHFCU member:

    • Open an NIHFCU consumer checking account with e-statements, AND
    • Complete ten (10) or more debit card transactions of $5 or more OR complete two (2) direct deposits of at least $250 each

Only consumer checking accounts are eligible for this offer. Business checking accounts are not eligible for this offer.

The Referrer authorizes the sending of communications to each Referred Person. The email may not be recovered if the person has “opted out” of marketing material from NIH Federal Credit Union or ReferLive. Each person who registers at ReferLive authorizes future communications including emails regarding the program unless they “opt out” by making an election at ReferLive or within such email. The Referred Person acknowledges that a Visa Reward Card will be issued to the Referrer after all conditions have been met in the time frames provided.

The individual that is referred (Referred Person) must be 16 years of age of older.

NIHFCU employees are not eligible for this offer.

Please allow 4-6 weeks after completion of all requirements for delivery of the Visa Reward Card. The Visa Reward Cards are subject to Terms and Conditions delivered with the card. The Reward cards are valid for 3 calendar months from the time of issuance. Rewards Cards may be reported as income to the IRS.
