Yes, an initial minimum deposit of at least $25 is required to open your CompleteCare Checking account.
This is your choice!
- A nominal fee equivalent to just 23 cents per day (or $6.95 per month) applies for access to all of your CompleteCare benefits, or,
- To waive this fee, maintain an Average Daily Balance of at least $20,000 in this account during the statement cycle.
Remember: A single use of one or any mix of these valuable savings, protections, and benefits could more than cover this fee for a month, several months, or more, and can replace services you may already be paying much more for elsewhere.
- Once you open your CompleteCare checking, you are good to go with most of its “Save” and “Enrich” benefits.
- To access, learn more, and register for your “ID Protect” and “Relax” perks, log in to online banking or our mobile app and select “CompleteCare Benefits.”

Benefits are available to personal checking account owner(s), and their joint account owners, subject to the terms and conditions for the applicable Benefits. Benefits are not available to a “signer” on the account who is not an account owner or to businesses, clubs, organizations, and/or churches and their members, or schools and their employees/students. For revocable grantor trusts, Benefits are available only when a grantor is serving as a trustee and covers the grantor trustee(s). For all other fiduciary accounts, Benefits are available to the beneficiary, who must be the primary member (Fiduciary is not covered).

With Early Direct Deposit, NIH Federal Credit Union may make incoming electronic direct deposits made through the Automated Clearing House (ACH) available for use up to two days before the scheduled payment date. Not all direct deposits are eligible for Early Direct Deposit. Early availability of direct deposits is not guaranteed and may vary from deposit to deposit. Early access to funds is dependent on submission of direct deposits by payor with a discernible description and standard fraud prevention restrictions. Whether we make funds available early depends on when we receive the payor’s payment instructions, any limitations we set on the amount of early availability, and standard fraud prevention screening. Early Direct Deposit is available for personal accounts only. Eligible direct deposits are limited to electronic direct deposits of items such as your payroll, pension and government benefit payments made through the Automated clearing House (ACH) to your personal account. Other deposits or credits to your account, such as deposits of funds from person-to-person payment services (e.q., Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, or CashApp transfers), check or mobile deposits, and other online transfers or electronic credits are not eligible for Early Direct Deposit. If NIH Federal Credit Union makes funds available early through Early Direct Deposit and the payor reverses or requests a return of the deposit, or the funds are otherwise uncollected by NIH Federal Credit Union, NIH Federal Credit Union may debit your account for the deposit amount previously made available early, which may draw your account into a negative balance. Some Exceptions Apply: Due to IRS tax reporting requirements, the service may not always be available (for example, Early Payday deposits will not be available to members the last two business days of December). NIH Federal Credit Union is not responsible for fees or penalties from transactions in advance of an anticipated early direct deposit posting.
