Add your NIHFCU card to your mobile device

Mobile Wallets let you securely store your NIHFCU debit card or credit card information so you can make purchases by simply tapping your supported mobile device at participating retailers. When you use a mobile wallet, your card number is replaced by a unique code that is different with each transaction. This means your actual card number is never shared, adding an extra layer of security when you shop so you never have to take your card out of your wallet nor worry about prying eyes or ID theft at the register.

Simply add your card to your smartphone to pay with ease at checkout or online TODAY.

Mobile Wallet Frequently Asked Questions

What is a mobile wallet?

A mobile wallet lets you securely store your NIHFCU debit card or credit card information right in your mobile device so you can securely make payments with a single tap.

How do I add my NIHFCU card to a mobile wallet?

To add your NIHFCU card to your mobile wallet, follow the instructions provided by your mobile wallet provider. Generally, you will need to open the mobile wallet app, select “add card,” and then enter your card details.

Is it safe to use a mobile wallet?

Yes, using a mobile wallet is incredibly safe. Mobile wallets use encryption and other security measures to protect your card details and prevent unauthorized access.

What is a contactless card?

A contactless card uses special technology that allows close-range, encrypted, contactless transactions. NIHFCU cards still support traditional purchasing methods like magnetic strips and chips if contactless payment terminals aren’t available at a specific merchant.

Where can I use my NIHFCU contactless card?

Look for the Contactless Symbol on the card reader when you make your purchase. If contactless payments aren’t available, you can still swipe or insert your card into the chip reader to make your purchase.

Are NIHFCU contactless cards as safe as chip cards?

Yes. Today’s contactless cards use a secure microprocessor that generates a unique cryptographic code for each transaction. The contactless technology cannot be read more than 2 inches away from the card, so it’s unlikely card information can be unknowingly captured from your card when using a contactless terminal.

How do I pay with my NIHFCU mobile wallet?

To make a payment with a mobile wallet, simply hold your mobile device near a supported payment terminal and follow the instructions on the screen. You may need to enter a PIN or use biometric authentication (such as a fingerprint or facial recognition) to complete the transaction.

What should I do if I lose my mobile device or suspect unauthorized use of my mobile wallet?

If you lose your mobile device or suspect unauthorized use of your mobile wallet, contact NIHFCU immediately to report the issue.
