Courtesy Pay

Should other sources of overdraft protection be exhausted, and for those members who are eligible, this provides coverage up to $700 (including fees) for checks, electronic debits (ACH), recurring debit card payments and online bill payments.

An optional upgrade to Courtesy Pay, extending your $700 Courtesy Pay coverage to also cover your ATM and every day Debit Card transactions.

  1. Log in to Online Banking, click Other Services, choose Debit Card/ATM Overdraft Options

  2. Call us at 800-877-6440

  3. Stop by any branch

  4. Complete and submit the consent form

Ways to Avoid Overdraft

One of the best ways to prevent overdrafts is to monitor your balances. At the NIHFCU, you have access to many free, easy and convenient tools to help you stay in touch with accounts and avoid overdrawing your funds.

Online Banking – fast, secure, 24/365 access to your accounts from your PC

Mobile Banking – Secure, convenient on-the-go access on your smartphone or tablet.

Account Alerts – Receive emails or text messages with balance updates and other information you select

By adding Debit Card Overdraft Services, you may be allowed to continue with a purchase and deposit or transfer funds before the posted cutoff time on the same business day to cover the transaction.

1 Minor, trust, club & organizational and deceased member accounts are not eligible for Courtesy Pay. Members with the following conditions on their account(s) are temporarily ineligible for courtesy pay but may become eligible once the condition(s) are removed: Past due NIHFCU loan; charged-off NIHFCU loan; accounts with a negative balance for more than 31 days; consumer checking account open less than 31 days; business checking open less than 61 days, accounts with levies, garnishments or bankruptcies, regular share account with balance under $1. Courtesy Pay is a privilege offered by NIHFCU for Checking account members that are in Good Standing, and may be revoked at any time at the discretion of NIHFCU. Fees may be assessed in accordance with the NIHFCU schedule of fees.
